Collection: THE VISIONARY

THE VISIONARY is a unique artwork created from David Bowie’s own eyes, transforming the intricate structures of the iris into a luminous, almost cosmic landscape. The work brings to life an idea I first conceived in 1995 while creating the artwork for Bowie’s Outside — an imagined vision of the eye as a miniature sun, connecting Bowie to his enduring identity as the Starman. Drawing on photographs I took of Bowie’s eyes during the Earthling period, THE VISIONARY brings together decades of experimentation into a single, intensely detailed portrait — a portrait without a face, and the culmination of an idea that began more than thirty years ago.
